#SOL16: After Rob

Below is a poem that captures an early morning after Rob died. I  wrote it and paired it with two pages from my art journal. It has been a long time since I actually wrote poetry and it was a bit scary to face the page. A special thanks to Carol Varsalona for the occasion to write poetry and the encouragement to do so.

from my art journal, 6.8.16  (acrylic paint, ink, gesso)

  2. I agree with Jennifer. Both words and pictures are beautiful! It sounds like you are coming to a new place. And I love your art journal. I would like a slice about that sometime-- it's something I would like to try and I don't have any idea where to start.

    1. There's a lot of information on the internet about art journaling. I'd recommend using youtube and entering "Art Journaling" into he search engine. i think you will like this link as it will take you to tons of videos. https://www.youtube.com/user/JournalArtista

I use an old atlas as one of my journals. I love the size of it and the print and maps.

  4. This is breathtaking. I love your line about the wind loosening everything from the leaves to the tight fist of grief in your heart. Your words are powerful and precise.
